The Community

Chandler’s Ford has grown from a village to a substantial suburb bordering Eastleigh, Southampton and Winchester. The Hilt was built to serve the needs of local residents within the Hiltingbury area but often attracts people from the wider Chandler’s Ford area and beyond with its location, room sizes, facilities and modern design.

Chandler’s Ford benefits from a central shopping area at the junction of Oakmount Road and Winchester Road known as Fryern, which now boasts some well known brands attracted to our high street such as Waitrose, Coop, WH Smiths and Costa Coffee. With four additional shopping areas within its boundaries Chandler’s Ford is continuing to be a vibrant place to live with a good sense of community.

Hiltingbury benefits from two recreational spaces, one at the Hiltingbury Recreation Ground and the other at Hiltingbury Lakes, both off Hiltingbury Road.

A new Pavilion Sports Centre will soon be open to provide a great range of sporting activities to Chandlers’s Ford residents. We look forward to working with the Parish Council and mutually benefiting from the additional exposure to visitors of both facilities.
