Social Committee

The social committee is responsible for most of the 'events' that you might have seen going on at The Hilt. The remit of the social committe is to host a range of events that touches as many parts of the community as possible. These are often free and open participation.

Our Social Committee meetings are a little less formal and, dare I say, social occasions where the mix of all the ideas come together. We have found that this is a great way to bring new volunteers into the structure of HCA. New volunteers come with such great ideas and energy that they can lift the whole group.

The committee meet as the need arises around events but it approximates to once a month. This fantastic group of people bring together all kinds of skills and backgrounds resulting in being able to create a range of events that any community would be pround of... as we are! If you have some ideas of great social events and are willing to 'make it happen' but need the support of a skilled contact us.

The social committee has also recently started two younger groups for 9-13 year olds and 14-18 year olds. These sub-committees operate with the support of the main committee and the structure allows for organised and motivated young people to define and execute events targetted at these sections of the community.

Here are some examples of the exciting work of the social committee:

Christmas 'raise the roof' sing-along
Film nights
Speaker evenings
Summer Sparkle (disco)
Hiltingbury Hoedown (Country & Western)
Sunday Fundays (Free family events)
